GROWING UP IN THE REICH

Life growing up in the Reich is explained using personal family experiences in step with the National Curriculum. Through a unique presentation using re-enactment, genuine artefacts and family history the experience of living and growing up in Adolf Hitler’s Germany is brought to life. This is done by telling the story of the Weiland family (my family) who experienced the economic hardships of the Weimar Republic and who were then enticed by the propaganda of the National Socialists. With my grandfather in the police (Schutzpolizei), my uncle who guarded Hitler at the Berlin Reich Chancellery and my mother in communications for the Luftwaffe, I explain how my family reacted to the events of that period?
As the story of my family travels from the 1920's through to the 1940's artefacts are passed around for the children to handle to bring the reality of this period alive.
