THINGS COVERED

PRESENTATION FOR

KEY STAGE 2

World War Two has many aspects and in my visit I cover

the major issues such as those below.

SAFTLY HANDELING REAL GAS MASKS
TAKING PART IN THE BLITZ
BUYING RATIONS WITH
IMPERIAL MONEY

After learning about  German bombs a volunteer will be asked to tackle a incendiary bomb fire,  (not a real one), then children will take to their air raid shelters (under their desks) during a Blitz attack with simulated

explosions with flashes.

The children learn the different types, their uses and how if feels to wear one during a
maths lesson.

In small groups, children will be using actual old money to calculate the costs of a shopping list of rationed food.

HOME GUARD DRILL

After learning about different uniforms the children will be taught military drill. A lot of shouting

takes place but all in fun.
